Can I check guest ID during checkin to verify his identity and conformity to Airbnb registered name?
Can the guests decline to show his ID during checkin? Is it allowed to reject checkin in this case?
How I can I verify that it is not 3rd party booking if guests decline to show his ID during checkin?
TIA.
The host definitely can request the guest to show Id, to reconfirm the registered guest name, profile photo match with the arrival guest during the check-in.
Besides, clearly described in the house rules, " upon check-in with the proof of the original identity"
To avoid any incident happen, the host does communicate with the guest in an Airbnb message prior to arrival, besides reminded the check-in times also mentioned the guest is obligated to check in with the registered Id for verifications.
In case the guest decline to show the Id or the host suspicious is the third party booking, do contact Airbnb Support Help Center acknowledge to the case manager, request cancellation immediately as safety reason and violated Airbnb policy.
yes you can but it should be mentioned in your listing (if it is not mandatory in your country)
