Is airbnb seriously asking guests to book hotels?

Some guests are getting the following message when trying to book:

Choose another place to stay

As part of our commitment to your safety, certain last-minute bookings of entire homes are restricted for now. You can still book a hotel for your stay

And then there is a button to search for hotels on airbnb.

Are they serious?

@Luana130   This appears to be the rollout of a measure they put into place (pre-pandemic) to address the party-house problem. I think it had originally only applied to guests below a certain age and/or based within a certain distance from the property. But since there's no transparency about what factors generate this message, we can't be sure what's going on.
