JUNE flights cancelled. What now?

Dear AirBnB. Your Covid-19 policy is great but doesn’t cover us due to the restrictions on timing of the booking. June is outside of your Covid-19 window. What now?

Right now we’re looking at a £15 refund from a £525 booking. We obviously want everything back, including the service fee.

Your thoughts are most welcome.

Have you looked a the EC policy for the virus (airbnb help)?

Guests have the option to send hosts a request for a full refund post end of May.

Have you done this?

Thanks for the info!

Our host has said she will make sure we get a "full refund" on her side but admits AirBnB will likely take "something" -  which I expect will be the service fee. EC policy says service fee is refundable but not past May which is just an arbitrary date...

Even so, for the host's "refund", we're only going on the host's word as the refund section doesn't have an option for covid-19 post May and doesn't include any mention of the host being involved - it just says we get £15 back and do we agree.

@Luke384

Your alternative would to be wait a while and see if Airbnb extend their blanket policy past the end of May

Thanks for the reply. Agreed! That's the plan for now. Although the poor old host is wanting me to cancel now. We've agreed to wait and see. Hopefully AirBnB extend it soon. I can't understand how they could justify not doing so - especially as airlines have been canceling flights way beyond the current window.
