Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards🌻,
Elisa

Hi @Ailton49 , we're so excited to welcome you in our Airbnb community. Belleville is such a vibrant area with a lot to offer.
How has your experience been so far as a new host? Have you faced any wins or challenges since you started?
Looking forward to read more about you!

Hello, I'm MJ (Maria João), the hostess at Pátio das Ribeiras. We are based in Almeirim, Portugal, right in the Wine Route, our area is known for it's gastronomy and endless sunshine! Pátio das Ribeiras used to be an equestrian farm and was remodelled into a beautiful Country House! I have a passion for people and my aim is to make all our guests welcome, comfortable and willing to come back!
Hi @Maria-João22 , it's wonderful to see you in the community and learn about Pátio das Ribeiras. It sounds like a beautiful place, especially being located in such a charming area known for its gastronomy and sunshine.
The most famous dish, that everyone across the country comes to taste, is the "Sopa da Pedra" (Stone Soup).
Says the legend that, the Stone Soup has always been associated with the Legend of the Friar and his way to make a delicious soup, with a stone!
One day, the Friar arrives at a place, tired and with an empty belly.
Knocks on the door of a farmer, showing a stone, saying he would like to make a soup with it.
Astonished, the owners of the house ask:
- With a stone? We really want to see that.
That’s what the Friar wanted to hear. He washed the stone very well and asked for a pot with some water.
- Only water with this stone and nothing else?
- No, to make it better, we should get some olive oil and add it the pot.
Always asking for the necessary condiments, the friar puts his hosts in constant turmoil:
- Now some meat, sausages, beans, potatoes, coriander,... etc, etc.
After a short time the pan begins to boil and let out a delicious aroma.
After the friar ate, the owners of the house, now very suspicious, ask, when there was nothing left in the pot:
- What about the stone?
The sly Friar says:
- I'll wash the stone and will use it next time!
Hi, my name is Jonathan.
I'm a new AirBnB host based in India. Glad to be part of the community, and looking forward to learning a lot as well!
All the best,

Hi @Jonathan2813 , Welcome to the community center! It's great to have you here, and I’m excited for you to embark on this journey as a host in India.
Hi y'all -
I'm Patrick from Austin, Texas. I have been an Airbnb host for 6 years. Love traveling. One of my favorite cities is Venice. So walkable and beautiful. I highly recommend you go if you haven't been.
Looking forward to meeting others in the larger community and collaborating - Cheers!
Hello @Patrick3614!
Welcome to the Community! It's a pleasure to introduce such an experienced host like you to the Community. If you like Venice, @Andrea6232 is your man 😁.
How's your experience as a host going after this 6 years?
Hello everyone! My name is Tracey-Ann, and I’m from Trinidad and Tobago. I joined about three months ago, and I recently got my first booking — it was a success! I was a nervous wreck for two days and three nights 😅 but everything went smoothly in the end.
My rental is called Joshua's Estate, and what makes it truly special is its location: just outside of Matura, Trinidad — a peaceful spot surrounded by nature and only minutes away from some of the country’s popular sites, including turtle nesting beaches, hiking trails, rivers, and waterfalls. It’s the perfect place to unplug, reconnect with nature, and enjoy a quiet getaway. Guests appreciate the peace, privacy, and opportunity to experience nature up close.
I’m so grateful for this community — knowing there’s a place to turn for guidance makes all the difference. I’m looking forward to learning more from you all so I can grow and eventually pass that knowledge on to others who come after me.
Hello @Tracey-Ann4 👋
Hi @Rebecca ,
Thank you so much, and yes, it is a perfect getaway from all the hustle and bustle.
I was just nervous because it was my first booking in general. I kept thinking about whether I forgot something or if my guest would be comfortable. But once everything went smoothly and I got that first bit of positive feedback, it boosted my confidence. I think I'll feel a bit more relaxed for the next one, but still just as eager to make it special!
I think you'll do amazing because you care so much about your guests! Have you got your next booking lined up @Tracey-Ann4? 😊
