Refunding a deposit due to Covid in New Zealand

Hi I have guests traveling from Australia with a booking at my airbnb  house this coming Xmas.  Their flights have been cancelled  due to Covid so they cannot come

Their booking was  50 % non refundable.    I would like to refund the deposit.   I however do not want to be out of pocket for Airbnb service charges.  As a last resort could I credit them the deposit less the Airbnb charges ?

Appreciate any advice on the above matter

I can appreciate your position.  IMO,   I think you and guest should wait it out for now.  With Covid, everything is constantly changing.

I suspect you haven't received payment yet, so you have no funds to reimburse.
