Security Deposit

Hi 🙂

I am new to Airbnb for hosting and I was wondering if everyone takes a security deposit for their listings?

Any information would be greatly appreciated 🙂

@Bianca445 The only way to actually take a security deposit would be to send a request for it through the resolution center after a booking is confirmed and the guest's final payment has been made. You can set up your listing with a "security deposit" but Airbnb doesn't actually charge the guest for this, unless/until after the stay you make a claim and Airbnb decides in your favor and the guest's credit card is still valid. It's the same process whether or not you have added the fictional "security deposit." So it's pretty meaningless.
