@Laura2592
I love experimenting with mosaics Laura, Here is one I did for the kids, they just love their chooks (their hens) so I got a bit of form-board and drew out my rough design, went along to a local tile supplier and rounded up enough tiles for the project and proceeded to smash them into random bits with a hammer.
Here is about where it started out.......
each day it grew a bit more.......
When the tile-work was finished I grouted it......
And here was the finished product hanging on their wall.....
As you can see, the chook is obviously a Rhode Island Red!!
The only thing that defeated me was.....the egg! I was damned if I could work out a way of making a mosaic egg which would end up looking like an egg, so I went to the local landscape supplier and said to the guy, "I am looking for a river rock, particular shape" and I showed him a photo of what I was doing.
He said to me ...."Mate see that bin over there, there is 150 tons of river rocks in that bin, if you can find the one you want, it's yours with my compliments"
I do have mosaic projects all around this property.....if it stands still, I will end up mosaicing it!
Countertop splashback in the listing cottage......
Apart from that chook mosaic I don't really work to a plan, I just at the bottom and finish at the top.....and the wheels on the bus go round and round!
Cheers.........Rob
