I think that it should be the first and foremost important thing for AirBnB India to start.

Well that’s me done. 2 years hosting on Airbnb. Super host maintained since the end of the first 3 months. 4.9 rating on reviews and run a full calendar in a town that’s not a big tourist destination. I’ve managed this by providing quality accommodation at reasonable price.
This however is not good enough for the overlords of Airbnb who feel they have a right to dictate to me as to how I run and clean my property. Where will such dictates stop. The excuse is irrelevant and worldwide mandates are ludicrous and quite tyrannical from what is a booking platform. If Airbnb want to run a motel chain they can buy it not use coercion to run other peoples property
The concept of B and B accommodation is dead. I don’t do business with bullies

@Michael5314 It is hard to see from your post but I guess you are ranting about being required to sign up to the cleaning protocol. If I am correct then I suggest you read the latest protocol before turning it down. It is now no more onerous than what every good host would expect to do when preparing the property for guests. It started off really silly but, in Airbnb style, they have quietly reduced it to a normal clean - they just haven't advertised this fact!
You just don’t get it. The contents or the reason for the protocol are irrelevant. They are a booking platform that is paid a fee to list the accommodation I provide. No it’s not 3% it’s approx 16% of the asking price in the market. How it is charged is immaterial
Airbnb have no financial or effort investment in my property. If they want a motel chain they should pay for it not mandate to people that do. The booking platform is theirs to insist it is used honestly but the individual hosts aren’t theirs
The world is constantly complaining about the extreme power that large corporations wield in our society but then just conform for convenience when it’s in their world. Must be someone else’s problem to fix I guess
Ask yourself why is the protocol eased now that the world is apparently being overrun by omicron. Does it really matter to them or is it some sort of power play
As I said I don’t do business with bullies
@Michael5314 An interesting second rant - Not sure what relevance the fee is but I think it is 3% host, 14.2% guest so a total around 17%. Nowhere on this post did anyone say it is 3%!
Anyway back to the situation I think you are complaining about. As a listing company Airbnb should do certain things to make the travellers safe. This can and should include security checks and some sort of quality assurance on the state of properties being listed.
In the early days of the pandemic they overdid the cleaning protocol because it was not as clear as it is now that Covid is primarily airborne transmitted. They relaxed the protocol some time ago now and certainly a) before Omicron came along and b) after many people have had the chance to be vaccinated.
Anyway it is your personal choice to leave Airbnb and everyone else to stay if they are willing to comply with the Ts&Cs in return for the marketing Airbnb provides.
It is a bit like Djokovic _ He has every right not to be vaccinated. Equally he will have to accept any consequences of not being vaccinated should Australia choose to deport him.
Hi there @Michael5314, just to clarify, all Hosts are required to follow Airbnb's 5-step enhanced cleaning process between guest stays as explained here.
