unblocking dates

I just cancelled a stay for a guest related to forest fires being very close to my house. This was a mutual agreement and I refunded their fees. When clicking on the dates of their stay, there is a message in the guest info stating the stay was cancelled by me. We have blocked those dates but you can still choose to open them up. I have been trying to find that option which is not available and the guests still show up on the calendar.

Can someone help me with that.

If you cancel, you will receive penalties from Airbnb:

https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/990/host-penalties-for-canceling-reservations

One of them is: the dates are blocked permanently.

If you need to cancel because of "extenuating circumstances", then contact Airbnb and ask for penalty free cancellation.
