Cancellation fee

Hi,

I am a new host on Airbnb. Unfortunately, I misunderstood how the calendar and dates works, while hosting. I woke up to 14 confirmations from guests, and now I have to pay a cancellation fee per guest of $50... A very unlucky beginning of what I expected to be a nice opportunity hosting on Airbnb.

Is there any Airbnb chat support I can talk to?

Best

sorry to hear that, why do u need to cancel those booking? the calendar date should not have open or the price was too low. Usually, any guests who find themselves with 14 bookings that means the price went crazy low and every jump into the occasion knowing he must be a mistake and still booked it.

My advice is to call Airbnb support to help you

@Nima81   Your listing is not currently displaying the auto-reviews indicating cancellations, so it appears that either you haven't cancelled the bookings or Airbnb has granted you a pass.

If those bookings are still active, I strongly suggest you go ahead and honor them. The penalty is not just the $50, but also having those dates blocked so that you can't rebook them.

If you've been lucky enough to get off the hook, PLEASE pause your listing while you take the time to learn how the calendar, pricing, cancellation policies, and other features of the platform work. The biggest mistake you made was to take your listing live before educating yourself on the basics. But by the time your first guest arrives, it's your job to be a relative expert on this stuff.
