I have a moderate refund policy. Guest just contacted me and said she tested positive for Covid and would like to get a full refund. It looks like that is the current policy until May 31. is that correct...Would they normally get fifty percent back for each night they don't stay.
@Jennifer1351 Covid, for all bookings taken prior to May 31st, trumps your cancellation policy so Airbnb will give a full refund.
Moderate cancellation policy: Guests can cancel up to 5 days before check-in for a full refund, and you won’t be paid. If they cancel after that, you’ll be paid for each night they stay, plus 1 additional night and 50% for all unspent nights.
Th extenuating cancellation policy regarding COVID indeed ends 31 May !
It is the responsibility of the guest to make a correct cancellation under this policy and receive full refund. No action from you is needed !

Thank you @Emiel1 , I appreciate the information that I don't have to do anything. I did read the details for the moderate policy, one thing I wasn't clear on is what the "plus one additional night" means (though I realize I won't be getting it back in this case). And they don't have to provide any proof of Covid.... (my question mark button not working). 😞
I just looked at the link from Ermiel - will they need to file a claim to get the extenuating curcumstances refund
