Enquiry didn't generate an email
I was surprised to see a message in my inbox from a customer who had not received a response to her enquiry several days previously.
I usually monitor my emails for Airbnb messages and respond quickly but this enquiry and the follow up message did not produce an email - hence the delay in responding.
Why would an enquiry/message not produce an email?

@Sue1527 Check your spam filters.
I do not rely on just checking my phone email or the App for messages. I check the website from my computer at least twice a day.

@Sue1527 There can often be glitches in receiving alerts. My text alerts stopped altogether a couple of years ago and it took Airbnb a month and a half, first to acknowledge that it was a tech glitch on their end, and then to fix it.
Sometimes I get alerts for some messages and not for others.
You should check off a couple of different notification options, so if one fails, hopefully the other still works, and get in the habit of checking your message Inbox at least once every 12 hours, so you don't miss anything.
