Guest damage and money request.

Recent guests have burnt my kitchen top which is not an easy or cheap fix as I will have to replace the whole counter top.

The counter top is IKEA 109 euros + 29 euros delivery and the installation will be at least 200 or more depending if it causes problems with the backsplash.my question is how much would you ask the guest for.

I note that Airbnb Iinfo says if they refuse to pay it the goes into arbitration with Airbnb.  I know form experience with last-minute no shows that Airbnb very much push for the guest to pay nothing or not as much as your contract says..

Assuming you haven't confronted the guest yet, if the guest hasn't yet written a review, I wouldn't even mention it until after they've written their review. A 1 star retaliatory review may easily cost you 300$ or more in the long run.

Otherwise, if you've already confronted the guest, then you're already in retaliatory review territory, so it won't really matter how much you ask for, you'll be lucky to get it anyway. But since the cat is already out of the bag, it's probably worth trying. 

Good luck with that. Keep your cool. It's probably going to be frustrating.
