We hosted a guest on Airbnb for 43 days received $0 while being charged $20 by Airbnb hosting this guest. This occurred in July, the guest booked 88 days but made an alteration on their reservation that reduced to 43 days. Instead of calculating the payout adjustment for 43 days, Airbnb erroneously deducted nearly $2000 from our payout account as if we owe Airbnb from hosting this guest. After contacting multiple support channels from the platform with 6 or more Airbnb Tier 1 and Tier 2 support team members, there's nothing they can do other than offset the wrongful deductions, which leaves us with $0 earning and a $-20 balance hosting a guest for 43 nights.
There was a similar posting at reddit from 2022, apparently this 'double deduction' has been a known issue, especially on reservations longer than 28 days, yet Airbnb continue playing dumb, stealing $$$ from hosts all over the world, continue sending a bunch of unhelpful supports telling hosts "we cannot assist you any further, the case has been closed".
