Hosting in Italy
Greetings,
I'm considering purchasing a vacation property in Italy and becoming an Airbnb host there. I'm a US citizen. Can anyone give any advice on how to start and what taxes and fees I should expect?
Thanks!
Rich B.

Hello @Richard1873
Have you look at the information on Airbnb about hosting in Italy.
In terms of taxes I would speak to an accountant in the US with experience of the Italian tax system to see how you can set things up in the most tax efficient way for you.
In terms of local taxes, contact the local government for the area you are interested in to find out about any STR restrictions and taxes.
Some areas in Italy also charge a local tourist tax which you are responsible for collecting.
Look at the useful tutorials on this community centre and Airbnb Help for information around setting up and managing your listing.
Don't forget you will need a local co-host, insurance for STRs and as you are hosting remotely CCTV or similar.
