Introduction
Hey everyone! ๐
Iโm Aditya Shakargayan ๐งโ๐จ๐๏ธ
Originally from Madhya Pradesh, India ๐ฎ๐ณ, I moved to the beautiful land of Canada ๐ in 2019 to explore new opportunities and experiences. Iโm a trained architect ๐ทโโ๏ธ, but currently, I wear multiple hats! ๐ฉ
By day, I work as a Project Manager in a construction company, where I get to bring architectural visions to life ๐ข๐จ. By passion, Iโm also a Professor at Canadore College ๐จโ๐ซ, where I love sharing my knowledge and mentoring the next generation of builders and dreamers.
Apart from my professional life, Iโm a traveler and an artist at heart ๐๐จ. I enjoy painting and sketching in my free time โ although lately, most of my creativity goes into my ongoing home renovation project ๐ก:hammer_and_wrench:๏ธ, which has been super exciting!
I also run an Airbnb listing in North Bay ๐๏ธ, located just a 2-minute walk from a scenic lake, sandy beach, and a kid-friendly play area ๐๐๏ธ๐ถ. Itโs nestled in a peaceful neighborhood right in the city โ the perfect blend of nature and convenience ๐ณ๐.
Looking forward to connecting with like-minded folks and sharing stories! ๐

Welcome to the Community, @Adi6330. ๐
It's a pleasure to have such a vibrant person like you here in the Community. There are a lot of members in the Community with similar hobbies to yours. For example, I really love to travel!
I see that you also have a listing. How's your experience as a host going? What have you learned so far?
I read you! ๐
Best,
Alex

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I'm really excited to be part of this vibrant community.
Hosting has definitely been a learning experience! My very first booking taught me a big lessonโI had a guest who claimed their payment was pending due to incorrect bank info. Airbnb said they needed to update it, and the guest assured me they would... but they left without doing it, and I never got paid. On top of that, they left the place in a mess! It was a tough start, but it taught me to always double-check that payment is confirmed before handing over the passcode.
Since then, it's been a much smoother rideโand I'm learning with every stay!

Hi @Alex
Yes, with my experience, I am improving my listings and properties as well.
Additionally, I currently have guests staying at my Airbnb and three upcoming bookings. Generally, I receive last-minute reservations.
Thank you.
