Hello everyone,
A warm welcome to the Community Center.
This discussion is for introducing yourself to your fellow Airbnb Community members, as well as welcoming and saying hello to newcomers in return. Thanks to all of you who have already introduced yourself and contributed in our previous thread, here.
I'm Lizzie and I am the Community Manager here, along with my teammate @Quincy. I have been managing the Airbnb Community Center since it officially opened in November 2015. It is fantastic to speak with amazing community members here.
To kickstart this topic, I would like to share a few things about myself:
How about you? Any interesting facts or hobbies?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Lizzie

Hello Everyone,
I am Lori and Blessed! My old victorian home has become a DIY project over the past 4 years. When I bought the house I envisioned an Airbnb room and now I have it. It was long hard work to get everything perfect for my guests. I really enjoying hosting. It has been a great experience. My space is a set apart studio for guests to have their own entrance and privacy. It's been the home to some long term traveling nurses and short stay from folks coming in from all across the country.
Hello, just joined.
cant figure out how to link my Airbnb to this page...can someone help me? I have a gray profile photo and can’t find how to connect. Ty Larissa
Hey Everyone,
My name is Karin and have moved back to South Africa in April 2019. I lived and worked in Dublin for a number of years, and even worked for Airbnb for the last number of years there. I absolutely lovedy job there and was super sad when it was time for me make.the difficult decision to move back to where I came from, due to family reasons. I completely forgot about the Community Centre and have recently discovered it again. I found that am still able to answer questions here, and I am living it so much again! There are soany people.that have so many questions and need help with their listings, and I am here to do just that. I am still looking for a job here in SA, and it is proving very difficult to fit in again in a world where I am a white female...and double the age of 20 🤪. But I am also trying a lot in freelance, and while I can still do something good, I love to help out here in the Community Centre where ever I can.
I Love Airbnb! ❤️🇿🇦😉
Hi Karin, fantastic to hear that you are back in the country. A bummer to hear that you are still looking for a job. I've just recently lost my job and am therefore wanting to get an Airbnb going. Any assistance you can give would be wonderful. Thank you. Can we what's app? Natalie
Hello Airbnb Community, my name is Matthew and I'm here in Salt Lake City, home of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Sundance Film Festival, and The Greatest Snow on Earth! I'm new to hosting on Airbnb this week and anxiously waiting for that first booking! My wonderful girlfriend, a former Olympic Skater and current skating choreographer, helped me prepare the lower half of my home for availability on Airbnb. Her attention to detail and special touches was amazing. I have lived in this house for 23 years and was considering selling it to downsize since I was now alone but she came along and suggested we make this wonderful location available to the Airbnb community so they could enjoy it as I have for so many years. This is a skiers paradise! I have six major ski areas within 30 minutes of this home and another 3 within an hour. Sundance Film Festival which is currently under way is all around me with screenings in Park City and Salt Lake City, both less than 30 minutes driving. I have been reading tips and suggestions on the community site all morning and it has given me some great ideas to get things rolling for bookings and to make the experience even better for my guests.
A little about me. I am from Rochester, New York . . . home of Eastman Kodak and I in fact work for Kodak as a sales professional in commercial printing. I am an avid skier, rock climber, hiker, canyoneer and outdoor enthusiast which is why I have stayed here in Utah for so long. Utah, with its access to mountains, rivers and some of the best National Parks and wilderness in the Rocky Mountain West is a paradise if you love the great outdoors. I simply love it here and I hope you get a chance to visit. I look forward to visiting as many of your amazing homes and spaces as well and look forward to learning about being an amazing host.
Warm Regards!

Hi Lizzie and Quincy,
I'm Michele from Florence, Italy and proudly superhost 🙂
I'm a software developer, and in my spare time I've created a FREE extension for browser Chrome which may be useful for guests to refine the Airbnb built-in search with some advanced filters.
I'd like to know it it is allowed to post here in this community without being banned as a spammer or if it is against the Community guidelines and terms of service.
Thank you,

Hi Everyone, I'm Natalie from South Africa - a suburb on our West Rand known as Krugersdorp (if you search Cradle of Humankind, I'm in the same area). My sister and I have just listed our first room and are looking for more property to rent. It all seems rather overwhelming and confusing when you get started.
I love people, reading - I checked this morning at the piles of books I want to get through, and I also love my two grandsons! I look forward to hearing from you and getting your tips and advice. Have a Blessed day.
Hi, Lizzie and the rest of Participants in this page. This is Stella, from Dover Plains NY. I am enjoying your comments about your travel style:). When I travel I like to think that I am a resident of the place I visit, I like to know how public transportation works, I like to eat the typical dishes of each place, I enjoy knowing parks, museums, and even look for public events of music, dance or theater.

Hi from Mesa AZ! I've been teaching cooking classes in my home & at a local rec center for 4 years. Last fall I finally thought to submit my ideas to Airbnb & was delighted they were accepted! My adult son David teaches a few classes with me too. Besides cooking, I love time spent with my children & granddaughter, gardening, reading historical fiction, thrift shopping, & trips to the beach. I just joined Toastmasters to be a better storyteller with my cooking students.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Leah from a country called Zambia, located in Southern Africa. I joined the Airbnb early last year and for the first 4 months or so forgot all about it until I missed a booking but got a nasty review out of it with scorings of 1 through and through yet the guest never pitched! That got me hooked and encouraged me to add a mobile message notification so I would not miss a booking and get a thumbs down for it. My family loves meeting and hosting new people and because the children are away from home it also keeps the home lively. We love to travel and through Airbnb we are happy to be part of a community that is making travel more affordable and easier. Looking forward to the learning and sharing on this platform. Though we have had some great moments and made great friends, we have also had moments when hosting was so a challenge but we are glad to still be weathering through the low and high moments and getting better at it.
Leah
