New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here 👇
Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards🌻,
Elisa

Hello @Fadi124 👋
It's great to have you here on the Community Center. We've had some threads in the past from hosts in Jakarta! If you head to the top of the page you'll see the 🔍 search bar - if you type a question in there, you'll get lots of results. (Some threads are a little old but often by tagging the hosts, they come back to answer questions or engage in conversations).
Are you thinking about becoming a host, or are you more of a traveller?

Well hello, I'm Diane and back to hosting after a four year hiatus. I'm not sure what to say right now except that this Airbnb Community Center/Help biz is really swell, and I look forward to learning and sharing more but also simply appreciating peoples' hosting journeys. I think we help make travel more fun!
Stay well!

Hello @Diane1760 👋
A huge welcome back to hosting! Has a lot changed with Airbnb in the four year break?
It’s interesting seeing how everyone runs their place, isn’t it? Have you got any bookings since reviving your listing? 😍

Hello everyone! 👋 I’m Daniel, and I’m excited to be part of this community of fellow hosts!
I run a cozy mountain cabin in beautiful Western North Carolina. Hosting has been one of the most rewarding adventures I’ve ever taken on. What started as a simple idea — creating a peaceful getaway where people could slow down, breathe fresh mountain air, and reconnect with nature — has grown into something much bigger.
Over time, I’ve learned that the little touches make all the difference — from having extra firewood ready for chilly nights to leaving local recommendations for great food, hikes, and hidden spots that guests might otherwise miss. Seeing guests truly relax and make memories here has been incredibly fulfilling.
Being part of Airbnb has taught me a lot about hospitality, attention to detail, and how meaningful it can be to help others feel at home — even if just for a few days. I’m always looking to learn from other hosts, share ideas, and keep improving the experience I offer.
I’m grateful to be here and look forward to connecting with all of you — hearing your stories, learning your best hosting tips, and continuing to grow together.

Hi! Gladys here from the Philippines! I'm a first time host. I was surprised and incredibly pleased to get Superhost status after 2 months of hosting. I love creating pockets of peaceful spaces in the midst of city humdrum -- where one can breath, relax, and reset.

Wow, @Haytham11 - you’ve been busy with some great volunteering work! What is Expo Dubai?
And you’ve only been hosting for under a year? That’s really impressive. How have you found juggling hosting alongside your volunteering?
