We always talk about big bookings, but what is one tiny thing that made you smile as a host this week?
My win: I finally finished a piece of abstract wood art for my guest room and it fits perfectly! 🪵🎨
What’s your small win? Let's celebrate the little things together!"
This is a great topic @Lazmee0, thank you for starting this conversation.
While other hosts join the conversation, I want to share that this community has made me smile many times this week. If I had to highlight one moment, it is seeing @Nash-Cottages-LLC0 back in the community and, as always, sharing such thoughtful support 🙏
What about you, Lazme? 😊
@Paula Honestly, my biggest small win this week has been this community itself. I haven’t even hosted my first guest yet, but being here and receiving such thoughtful, honest, and kind guidance from experienced hosts has been incredibly emotional and motivating for me.
I came here thinking I would just learn about listings and hosting, but instead I found people who genuinely care enough to guide, correct, encourage, and teach with honesty. Sometimes reading the feedback feels like being a child learning from caring adults who truly want you to improve and grow, and that feeling has been very special to me.
As someone starting from zero, every comment, suggestion, and shared experience feels like a lesson I’ll carry forward. I genuinely cannot wait to learn more, grow into a better host, and hopefully one day give the same honesty, support, and kindness back to new hosts the way this community has given it to me.
And seeing people support others so thoughtfully really shows what kind of space this community is. It’s been amazing to witness.
@Paula Awwww - thank you for the shout out. I echo @Lazmee0 comment about the community. It's so lovely reading the feedback others have to give and thinking about how I would handle the various situations that come up. Also, I've had the opportunity to meet some of our most recent guests (we live on site in the main house but don't always meet our guests) and have thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them. It's the small stuff, really!

@Lazmee0 One tiny thing that made me smile this week was having a perfect guest check out and leave the apartment absolutely spotless, everything organized, tidy, and cared for like it was their own home. Those little moments really make hosting feel rewarding 😊
@Emir190 Honestly, reading this made me smile too. There’s something so beautiful about someone respecting a space enough to leave it clean and cared for, especially because homes carry energy and effort behind them. I can imagine how rewarding that must feel after hosting.
When I used to travel as a guest myself, I would always try my best to clean up and leave the space easy to handle before checking out. In my mind, it was my quiet way of saying thank you to the host for opening their home to me. Seeing your comment now genuinely makes me happy because maybe somewhere, a host felt the same appreciation and relief you described.
I actually haven’t hosted my first guest yet, so right now I’m mostly learning, observing, and trying to understand what truly makes guests feel comfortable and connected to a place. Hearing experiences like yours makes me even more excited for the journey ahead.
One thing that has genuinely surprised me is how supportive and honest this community is. People here don’t just give advice they teach with care, realism, and kindness. As a beginner, it honestly feels comforting in a way that’s hard to explain. I’m learning so much already, and I hope one day I’ll be able to share the same warmth and encouragement with future new hosts too.
My small win this week was setting up a simple balloon that said ‘It’s Your Day’ for a guest family visiting for their daughter’s golf tournament 🎈⛳️
She was a young teenager competing, and her reaction honestly made my day too. It reminded me how small thoughtful touches can make a stay feel special.
@Blessing61 What a considerate gesture! I’m sure your review will be 5 out of 5! Kudos to you!

I read many negative reviews from Airbnb guests.
I have no complaints whatsoever. On the contrary, I have already received a video of the apartment clean and disinfected for the next person. I do not provide bed linens or towels in that property.

I agree 100% with you, @Stanja0. What a lovely gesture! I have made sure to tag Blessing in your post so she gets a notification of your message.😊
@Blessing61 how did this stay turn out? Did guests mention anything about this in their review?
Keep us posted.
Thank you, @Paula , for keeping us all connected, it really makes the 'Community Cafe' feel like a cozy kitchen table where we can all share our wins. ☕🌟
@Stanja0 This is exactly why I love this space! Seeing the support between hosts is just as heartwarming as the hosting itself. Thank you.
Details that make the difference
@Madolin-Jazmin0 You hit the nail on the head! 🏠❤️ It’s those tiny, almost invisible details that whisper to a guest, 'You are welcome here.' It’s the difference between a house and a home!
