Transparency with Damages

Hello,

We've had several groups of guests damage brand new, solid wood furniture and virtually everyone has refused to own up and, so far, Airbnb hasn't delivered with their insurance promise (three separate claims with each one refusing to accept responsibility and several others we didn't even bother to pursue - none reported damages - scratches to wood floors even though furniture pads are on, broken tile, etc.).

Along those lines, I'd like to get your estimation of a percentage of guests accepting responsibility. Please a rough estimate of say 10 claims you filed with Airbnb, the percent of guests who owned up for damages without arguing responsibility.

Thanks!

@Mark4150 I  hope there is no host who has 10 claims with Airbnb. The whole Aircover for damage thing is stupid (and is not insurance by the way). If it were a proper insurance policy there would be a sensible deductible to deter small claims.

@Mark4150   On the whole our guests seem to have been pretty honest, we have had a few minor breakages such as mugs etc and they have all (apart from one) messaged and offered to pay for replacements and I just told them not to worry about it.  The one big breakage was our TV.  Guest let us know promptly and paid straight away through the resolution centre.  We have not (touch wood) had to involve Airbnb to escalate a claim since we started hosting in 2019.  Having read all the complaints I am dreading the day when we might need to.
