Hello everyone!
My name is Joanne and I’m very new to hosting . I’m from Anchorage, Ak. I enjoy babysitting my granddaughter, traveling, baking, gardening, nature tripping, camping, skiing, and hosting parties., among a few interests. Thank you for this community! I’d like to learn from the best.

Hello @Joanne1066, It’s wonderful to have you here. How did you find this forum? Do you have any questions for the experienced hosts?
Please keep us posted.
Welcome! Here’s to a wonderful journey of hosting! Here’s some tips to help you out:
1) If you type the “@“ before the username it flags the person and let them know you mentioned them. Just responding to a message doesn’t necessarily let someone know you did.
2) If you have a sensitive guest issue I’d recommend putting it in the host circle section as only hosts can read this section. All other sections are public to anyone - hosts, guests, I even think unregistered users could read them ( @Paula, @Rebecca) please correct me if I’m wrong about unregistered users being able to read any posts in the other categories.
3) This is a community of international guests and hosts and not directly Airbnb support. We do have community managers who help flag concerns to the right Airbnb team and they can assist with links to policies or other helpful threads too. Everyone is usually helpful and friendly.
4) Feel free to ask a question but also check the threads to see if there is already a post about a related question. There are years of stories, insights and advice here to review.
5) Check in daily or at least a few times a week as many hosts will post issues here before you may experience them. Glitches, hiccups, new releases or features (that we may have not been told about but just appear) are often mentioned here and have some work arounds until they fix the issue.
6) Please also join and check out your local host club for more local specific support (cleaners, handymen, etc.). Some are more active than others and they recently migrated over from Facebook local host clubs so may not be as active as when they were on Facebook. It’s still a good resource though.
