I understood that I would have to confirm a request to stay at our property. But twice now Airbnb just tells us we have accepted this reservation. Once when we were already booked. Do we have to confirm a reservation or not?

Be glad of advice, please

@Kim2544 Do you have Instant Book switched on? It will be by default unless you switched it off when listing your property.

If it is on then guests can book with no reference to you.
