Are the hosts allowed to increase the price a week before our scheduled reservation? I just received an email from my host telling us that the price had gone up by $171.00.

It is not allowed, unless the booking has changed (eg you will bring extra guests, pets etc..)

Then It is done by reservation change.

@Maria-Antonia14 No, a host can't do that, unless it's fees for extra guests, pets, or something you agreed upon. Other than that, they cannot just up the price on you!

@Maria-Antonia14  you don't have to agree to a higher price but your host may cancel your reservation if he can rebook at a higher price. He will face some penalties including a 100$ charge and you may end up without the alternative accommodation, or with a more expensive one, so...
