Help please.
Ive got a request for a couple with a six month child .That's fine.My enquiry is at the moment my cleaning fee is £10 a,stay. Now,they are staying for 4 weeks do I change the additional costs for the use of the oven and change of bed sheets a week? If,so how do you do this please?
@Helen744 If the host intends to enter the private rented space during the stay for any reason, that should be very clearly disclosed in the listing. Some guests may appreciate that hotel-style service, but when I rent an Airbnb I expect more privacy. No matter how trustworthy a host seems to be, it would be a very unpleasant surprise to find that they'd been inside the private space while I was out.
@Anonymous Clearly Andrew guests know. They have sufficient time to put their private things in drawers etcetera . Nothing is moved and if it is then it is replaced. We are talking about long term stays of up to six weeks with a linen change . That is making of beds and removing dirty linen from the house . Kitchen and bathroom clean and most importantly rubbish removal. Bottle removal and recycling if the guests have not managed it . Lawn mowing .And Andrew that is part of the unwritten contract between guest and host. It is called trust. I will repeat it trust H.
My own long term renters (a year's lease) provide their own linens, towels, food, etc, and their kitchen equipment. What do you think about these long term renters of yours providing their own linens? This would seem to reduce the stress about their washing or potentially damaging your house linens...does this make sense for you?
@Kitty-and-Creek0 Yes I have thought about that but rarely have long term rentals now but if you look at one of the current posts where the lady has a long term guest left to her own devices trouble can occur without the idea of short term accomodation being part of the agenda. If you provide a fully furnished home then its maintenance and care is still up to you . Otherwise put it back on the rental market as an empty house. We have replaced beds during rentals and rolled with the punches of weather change . For instance in winter our sheets ,bottom go to fleece while retaining the upper sheet as cotton . Our quilts and doona covers get heavier and sometimes it becomes apparent that some people discard the top sheet. This means that housekeeping will then change the doona more frequently but not provide a top sheet . These are close observations that allow guests comfort and represent skill not intrusion as they are not judgement issues. H
Eeek Jo, This booking has red flags all over it! Are you really sure you are comfortable with this? I don't home share and this one would have me running for the hills.
Now you see it now you dont . No time to take offence just settle back and enjoy the clean. Voila . Discretion is not my middle name but it could be at times. I repect my guests privacy. H
