@Colby16 I based my expenses spreadsheet on the categories listed on the IRS schedule E. Then I used subcategories such as plumber, electrician, cleaner, etc. as well as Home Depot, Amazon and grocery store. Refine it to your needs, and I think you will be happy. Don’t forget all of your utilities, including cell phone and Netflix. I use Microsoft excel.
