Airbnb in Sarasota

I’ve been a host on Airbnb for a while but first time in Sarasota. I’m getting mixed information on the Airbnb rules in Sarasota, I am in Sarasota county. I read somewhere we need to apply for a license/permit. Is that true? How are people renting for 2 or 3 nights when others are saying you can only rent for a minimum of 7 or 30 days depending on the area. Any guidance or help to understand and avoid penalties would be greatly appreciated from the local community running their Airbnb’s.

Perhaps ask your local county office, and no need to give them your name.

Hi, we live in Manatee County but have a Sarasota address.
i know we had to have a county license.
