Hi I am a Super Host in Barcelona looking to discuss and support other Barcelona hosts who have been blocked by the City Hall to rent a room in their own property for less than 31 nights. Which, at risk of large fines, effectively stops short term rental in the city without a license.
Last year the Generalitat of Catalonia clarified a 'grey area' in the law, whereby an owner/tenant could rent 1-2 rooms in their apartment ' for a maximum of 4 guests, for periods of less than 31 nights, as long as they lived there themselves. They left the regulation of this law to the local City Halls.
Barcelona promptly banned the renting of a room in your flat, thereby denying much needed income for many people who are unable to accept mid to long term rentals, and which will leave them struggling to pay mortgages or rent.
This ban will be implemented from August this year but the City Hall have back dated it to last year and already fined some people up to €60,000!
I would like to hear from any Barcelona hosts or groups that are affected by this, in order to approach the City Hall with our objections during the consultation period
Hola, soy un Super Anfitrión en Barcelona que busca discutir y apoyar a otros anfitriones de Barcelona que han sido bloqueados por el Ayuntamiento para alquilar una habitación en su propia propiedad por menos de 31 noches. Lo cual, con riesgo de grandes multas, detiene efectivamente el alquiler a corto plazo en la ciudad sin licencia.
El año pasado la Generalitat de Cataluña aclaró una 'zona gris' en la ley, según la cual un propietario / inquilino podía alquilar 1-2 habitaciones en su apartamento 'para un máximo de 4 huéspedes, por períodos de menos de 31 noches, siempre que vivieron allí ellos mismos. Dejaron la regulación de esta ley a los Ayuntamientos locales.
Barcelona prohibió rápidamente el alquiler de una habitación en su piso, negando así los ingresos que tanto necesitan a muchas personas que no pueden aceptar alquileres a medio o largo plazo, lo que las dejará con dificultades para pagar hipotecas o alquileres.
Esta prohibición se implementará a partir de agosto de este año, pero el Ayuntamiento la ha fechado al año pasado y ya ha multado a algunas personas con hasta 60.000 €.
Me gustaría escuchar a los anfitriones o grupos de Barcelona que se vean afectados por esto, para acercarme al Ayuntamiento con nuestras objeciones durante el período de consulta.
