Haven’t had a booking since November 2021. Weather conspiracy or not the facts are facts I have been very busy with Airbnb with my four locations and they all have been halted representatives in Airbnb claim that I am in an active status but I beg to differ. Is anybody else experiencing something similar to this?
hmm, this is very concerning. You haven't declined or cancelled requests or bookings? have you searched for your listing to see where it shows up? have you accidentally set it to some minimum stay? Did you change your wording? Perhaps others in your area have more friendly wording?
edit: just did a search looking for your listing by typing Lake Kenosia, and it's not showing up with just 1 night, so i tried 2 nights, etc, and finally when i put in 7 nights it showed up. (looks like you have a 3 night minimum?)
@Rose1523 Hey I looked at both of your properties and I can tell you from my just looking with an open mind....the listing - what's written is not inviting, its kinda off putting if I'm really honest. And when you use the word Immaculate you are pushing everything - as your wording after that is rather difficult to coordinate all together. For most of us we use language that is inviting, and work to paint an inviting picture of the guest staying and all they will encounter and enjoy....you go straight for --- do not do this, or that, you will pay for this, for that and so I'd not go any further personally cause I'm sure I'd not be able to live up to your standards - Immaculate -
I don't think you are being black balled or any such from Airbnb, I think since the pandemic we have a completely different world of people begging to travel, and they are very picky and they want it easy, lovely, and are searching for positive experiences and pretty words/pics and so anything that is going to be less than that - they don't even bother to look at. So I think you might want to look at first your listing and how its written - pics are not flattering also, sorry, you asked about what could be the problem. I hope you can understand I'm coming from a space of you can make things much better but you need to change a few things first. good luck and happy hosting, Clara
@Rose1523 There's no conspiracy here; your listings were easy to find in search results. The problem is that people are choosing not to book them.
The ratings are definitely a problem. Better photos might help drive more interest.
@Rose1523 I’d tend to agree with Andrew. Some of your responses to guest reviews are not doing you any favors either. If I were a guest looking to book I’d avoid you like the plague just based on those. Some of them are downright hostile and scary.
Being tri state and not far from NYC you have no idea the problems and damage I have experienced appreciate your comments but Airbnb did not back me up or reimbursement me I was just starting out and the pandemic hit everything was shut down and contractors and supplies and businesses were closed or backed up I lost thousands it was a tough time
@Rose1523 There are plenty of hosts who experience problems and damage and terrible customer service from Airbnb, and everyone, the world over, has been stressed out by the pandemic. But it's important to leave your emotions out of your Airbnb business.
I see you have many good reviews from appreciative guests. I would try to concentrate on the good hosting experiences you have had, ask to have those damaging responses removed, and rewrite your listing wording to be positive and welcoming and something I think is really important- market specifically towards the type of guests who will be a good fit for you and your listings.
@Rose1523 I would ask if you can delete your responses to some of your guests...wow. We all get people who are difficult and complain about things like bugs (even outdoors) but ranting on your profile is not going to attract more bookings. Making changes to photos, house rules and other parts of your listings will create a more inviting atmosphere. Maybe even consider offering a discount to generate interest in new bookings?
I always hate it when people go off on tangents about questions that were not asked, so I will answer what you DID ask-- is anyone noticing a lack of bookings? Bookings are slower for us but we still have a lot of interest and inquiries. I do think that your listing(s) and responses could be the X factor here. I can find your places easily.
it's impossible for a diverse int'l community to say whether bookings are slow or not. Dec/Jan for me is xmas/summer/school hols, peak season, we were fully booked. Feb has dropped off a bit but i'm in a wine region, and we seem to be coming into wedding season, so every weekend is already booked up for the next 8 weeks so i just have to try and snag some mid-week bookings, and then Easter hols is just after that.
Typically though, in every industry (except perhaps florists!) February is the pits and March isn't much better.
