Charging for Early Check-In?
I recently changed the description of my listing to state that I would charge $25 to guests who want to check-in early or check-out late.
Probably 60% of my guests either ask to check-in early or to drop their bags off so they can explore the city. It is actually a nuisance to deal with because it disrupts the cleaning process. I really did so in hopes that it would deter people from asking to check-in early, but if they really wanted to at least there would be some incentive for me to expedite the cleaning.
Do you think this is a good idea, or do you think guest would think I am trying to nickel and dime them?

I use YALE Assure 2 smart lock and it works great for me; it generates codes and I can open/close on demand.

I have started referring guests to a service called Stashser. It's a worldwide luggage storage network. You can search for it easlily online.
I have used it myself a few times, it's great.
Of course it's only useful if you have somewhere in your area signed up to the service.
The feedback from guests has been positive.

I believe charging is a great idea. What is the mechanism to do the charge? Is that through the app?

I think that charging is a good idea. I also have request to check in early or late. Question, how do you accept the additional payment since Airbnb has already collected payment? Is this something that is asked to be sent via CashApp or Zelle?

I started to charge for early check in this year. You're absolutely right, loads of people ask for it. In my situation I have to book off the night before, therefore loosing one night's revenue. I charge roughly half of one nights cost.

this happening more and more often, sometimes my rate is already at its lowest and someone reaches out either asking to check in earlier or later, AIRBNB needs to do something about it. the host is the one who takes the hit, as people want to secure the early or late check out before booking and if you say no they just wont book your property as they are not getting their way. People who also message you to ask for a ridiculous discount in their stay. its exhausting to host lately
