Hi

For people hosting in uk, if you have a booking for a couple of months do you inform your local council and give your guests names?

Hi @Wendy1132 Technically if you rent out the property a lot then you should be on business rates and operate it as a Furnished Holiday Let. With small business rates relief you may end up paying no rates at all.

There are also tax advantages of an FHL.

One point on your listing - You should say 2 single beds in one of bedroom 2 or3. Your listing only says 1.

Hello @Wendy1132

The important thing currently is to check that any guest booking under lockdown meets our Covid restrictions exemptions I.e. is an essential worker moving to your area for work etc

I take full names for each guest and written confirmation of how they meet the Covid legislation exemption.

By the way your rates are far too low - have you checked what others in your area would charge for comparable places.

You don't need to inform the council about your guests but if you haven't done so already it's probably worth you applying for business rates and check with the council about any local holiday lettings restrictions/licensing .
