Delete and restart a listing

Anyone know if I’m allowed to delete my listing (I need to complete some renovations), and then start fresh in a couple months, without the old reviews? I don’t want the old reviews showing up since the house will have better features.

@Michelle2152 Your old reviews will stay under your profile but not under your new listing. Guests will rarely look at your profile, they will usually just read  the reviews under the listing they are interested for.

So yes, you can unlist your old listing and create a new one with different name as @William810  suggested.

It certainly can be done.  For a "clean sweep" you can delete your entire AirBNB account and start over again.  I am not sure the mechanics about verifying your identity, however.  You could of course use new contact information, but I am not sure if the system has a way to pick up if you use the same ID and other information to verify who you are.

I think there is at least some safety measure in place to stop hosts from disestablishing and then reestablishing accounts under different names.  There have been a few news stories about host scams, multiple properties that didn't exist under multiple accounts, etc and how AirBNB took measures to stop hosts from wiping out and then making new accounts.
