Hi! I know as guests there is extenuating circumstances and you can cancel your reservation with no risk/fee. But what about hosts? I assumed that since Airbnb's fee is high, they will protect hosts. But now we are experiencing it, it seems like there is no protection for hosts. Has anyone experienced anything?
The reason why i ask is because of the Maui fire that's going on right now. Our rental unit is not impacted at all. According to our neighbors in the area, everything is normal there. But of course, our guests cancelled and they got full refund, though we have no cancellation policy. We are getting no payments.

As there are 'no travel advisories' in place for guests to travel to your location because of the forest fires it's only right that guests should be able to cancel penalty free under Airbnb's guest extenuating circumstances policy. @Haruna-And-Samy0
You can take out home insurance for short term lets that will cover you in these sort of circumstances. (Income loss protection)
@Haruna-And-Samy0 From what I see the hospitals are overwhelmed and there is chaos in general on the island. I really think you should consider the thousands missing before you worry about your earnings.
