Hi we have a 2 bedroom 3 bathroom condo Oceanview in Playa Blanca Oceans 3.What should are daily rate be in high season month...
We have a host who is fraudulently listing our condo. We have communicated with support and they keep giving us the same old story that we need to contact the host. The host has been unresponsive and has several posts on the listing that guests have been scammed. Anyone else have this same issue?
How are they able to list your property ? Are they tenants ??l
if not how did they get photos and a description?
in your situation if you've provided evidence to airbnb showing it's fraudulent I would post publicly across all their social media channels with a link asking why they won't remove it.
Has anyone hired a lawyer to help remove fraudulent listings?
Can you explain a bit more about the circumstances ? Is this is a tenant who is subletting . If so serve them with eviction papers.
if not can you explain how they have set up a listing for your property?
In addition to @Helen3 's advice, Airbnb has 2 places on the listing itself where you can report it. I would report the listing and the Host by using the "Report This Listing" and "Report This Profile" Options:
Main listing page under where you enter dates to book -
Report This Profile -
Scroll to the bottom of the page where it says "Meet Your Host" and click the Host photo. It takes you to the info about the Host. Under the photo on this page click "Report This Profile."
Joan, John has gone down that path but, this fits a rather troubling consistent pattern. Reporting it is one thing, actually getting Airbnb to do anything about it is another thing entirely!
Support appears to be at that point where, we don't actually have any support!
Cheers........Rob.
Time to get the local media involved. Call the newspapers, television stations, get on twitter, etc. airbnb responds to bad publicity pretty quickly.
Thanks for the input. I’d love to file a class action lawsuit against Airbnb since we have proven to them that they are knowingly listing a fraudulent host but will not help in getting the listings removed.
@John7676 is this a random person you do not know? Are they pictures of your condo and if so, how did they get them? If the pictures are not of your place, how do you know for sure it is your address? Have you reported it using the links @Joan2709 has provided? I understand you are upset but I am not sure we have the full story
This is from a rogue host who has pictures of our units and is listing on Airbnb. The host was arrested and is awaiting a grand jury for theft and other related charges. We have submitted this information to Airbnb, and they still refuse to remove the listings. There are a few reviews for the host from guests who have been scammed.
