Getting paid

Good morning

I am writing as I am a SuperHost with Airbnb.

I have really enjoyed hosting and take great pleasure in providing a good service to the people staying with me.

You state your company is all about trust, however my trust with Airbnb is being severely tested at the moment.

In August 2024 you put my release of payments for guests staying with me on hold due to KYC requirements.

I provided the information and received the following message on the 12th September:

**

However I am still waiting to get paid and it is now amounting to close to NZD$7,000.00 - money I urgently need to pay my mortgage.

I have rung and rung and rung and write everyday to SuperHost support but all I get told its that it is with a specialized team and that I cannot talk to them direct and the thread keeps getting shut down

Please please get back to me to get this resolved - I cannot continue like this for much longer.

Oh my dear I'm fearing that there is something very corrupt going on in Airbnb.  We need to stand together with our legal rights.  I'm also experiencing a delay in only one payment but you are right our businesses and lives depends on this money and it is rightfully ours! I'm so upset also and came to these forums specifically to see what is being done on these matters.  Wishing you speedy results but maybe we should begin to coordinate a way to prevent such thievery from recurring to other hosts? Please contact me through messages on my profile if you'd like to discuss some legal steps we could take  i work with lawyers here in Canada ..

Hi @Allyson98

As the law works differently in different countries I am not sure lawyers in Canada could help hosts in other countries .

many countries have a small claims court they can use to recover debts. If you have one in Canada this would be a cheaper solution to recovery money Airbnb owe you rather than paying lawyers

best of luck

Thank you Helen - I have just responded to further queries from Airbnb - probably due to my posting on this forum - I just cannot believe that they treat their hosts like this - basically their reason for being, feeling very stressed.

Thank you Allyson

I was thinking this exact thing as I had another sleepless night over missing payments (growing every day as more and more hosting is going on) and came to the conclusion we have very little recourse here - it is a huge international company and we are just small fry. Will get in touch.

Hi @Mona1679

You have reached a community of hosts and guests rather than Airbnb

what an awful situation - what reason have they given?

how long has it been since Airbnb paid you.m?  If they owed me such a huge amount I would stop taking bookings from them and take them to court .

Thank you Helen

Yes it seems nuts - there is no reason given only that it is sitting with a specialized team that I cannot contact direct - I have just been contacted by another airbnb entity (probably because I have resorted to posting on this forum) wanting to assist - so who knows it that will resolve matters.
