I have a potential guest who is trying to book for mid-late June. She is trying to pay for 1/2 now and the balance at a later date. When she tried to make the reservation, she is saying that she saw that option, but now she is being asked to pay in full now. Is that a possibility and how would she do that? Thanks!
@Jeff-and-Ann1 The concept of half now, rest later is something Airbnb are totally in control of. As hosts we have no visibility or influence over this.
@Jeff-and-Ann1 She needs to ask Airbnb about this herself, as hosts have no input into the payment process.
The half-up-front option is not available in all cases. What Airbnb's criteria is for this is not known to hosts.
Thanks........apparently, there was a glitch in the Airbnb system that has since been corrected.
I have a guest who needs to pay over $8000 for a stay. He does not have a credit card that will go that high, and would like to make two payments. How can we make this happen?
Thanks,
SueAnn
@SueAnn5 Hosts have no control over whether guests are offered the pay-half-up-front option.
It is either offered to them by Airbnb or it's not and the criteria for when it's offered are not anything I've ever seen written anywhere. But it's for the guest and Airbnb to work out.
I think your guest needs to contact Airbnb directly since you have no control over the collection.
In fairness and customer service to your guest, I would suggest that you research and give your potential guest every possible avenue to contact Airbnb. IE phone #, messaging, Twitter, etc. Even if it doesn't work out, your listing will be remembered for trying to help.😉
