Has anyone had experience with Air BnB's liability insurance?
I have read on the Community postings that a number of hosts haven't found that Air BnB has been forthcoming covering guest damages as expected. I haven't seen postings about hosts' experiences with physical injury related liability issues. My biggest concern is the potential liability should a guest injure themselves while staying in our Air BnB. If anyone has had experience with Air BnB either covering or not covering injury claims from guests, I would really like to hear what your experience has been. Thanks!
I have insurance that includes coverage for damages and third-party liability.
Luckily, I’ve never had an experience like this, but it’s important to remember that more than just the guest can get injured on your property. This could include your cleaning staff, maintenance crew, yourself, or even someone a guest brings over for a visit or dinner. In all these cases, I think Airbnb won’t cover it.
@Robby-and-Jennie0. I host places with their own insurances. Here we call that Public Liability Insurance and the coverage is up to $20m, so you can imagine the insurance assessors are pretty vigilant when someone claims. It can get pretty messy, just ask host @Marie8425 who posted on Host Circle recently .
