Hi,
I just received a message from 璐褀 asking whether the rental property is shared with others. I found the question a bit odd since the listing clearly states that the entire house is for rent.
He or she seem interested in booking for 11 days, which is great, but I wanted to flag this because the property is not for individual, rather expensive and designed for larger groups.
If you happen to know this guest or have had any prior communication with him or her, please let me know. Thanks
Oh... I got a reply:
"I have some questions about the house.
Airbnb login is not convenient on the computer
Do you have time to call me?
323 is the starting point,
776 is the middle,
0393 is the end.
Green AP-Wha/s is also this number
Looking forward to receiving your information. Thank you for your understanding" 😅
It's a common scam by guests looking to book outside of Airbnb.
i would just report to Airbnb and move on @Miki150
Great instincts @Miki150 - as you can see in the request and in reply as well, this is just a scam.
You don't have to select "decline", you can just type any reply (for example, explaining that you're not interested in hosting them) and respond with that. Because it's only an inquiry and not a trip request, there's no need to do more. Your response time will remain good as long as you just reply.
To protect other hosts, it would be good if you could also click the profile and report the "guest" to Airbnb.
Hello Shelley,
Thank you for the information and I will do so next time (hope not to have that soon). And I've reported to Airbnb!
Hi @Miki150 , Shelley has shared the best tip for situations like this!
How did you deal with this particular messaging in the end? Did you have to decline the guest or you simply reported it to Airbnb?
