Houst - Airbnb Management

For any landlords out there I'd avoid Houst like the plague.

Completely oversold revenue potential to the extent where revenues were lower on an Airbnb than an AST tenancy. Cleaning standards were atrocious and expensive.

Customer questions and complaints were mishandled on multiple occasions and any negative reviews about the company are reported and removed from platforms like Trustpilot.

Overall a terrible experience.

@Michael2287 I suspect this applies to many (all?) management companies. They just don't have sufficient skin in the game to ensure their standards are high plus they often over extend themselves because they are not the ones who lose out when it goes wrong.

A horrible experience @Michael2287  but I would say as the business owner you should really do your own market research around likely supply and demand and pricing for your listing and not rely on what a management like Houst say.

London is a massively oversaturated market coupled with falling demand so prices for STRs aren't what they were. This combined with the 90 day limit can make things challenging.

I dont understand why air bnb allows Houst to proceed with them as a third party- the reputational harm is enormous

I just tried to search how to write a complaint to Houst and literally impossible to get a complaint channel. Across all social media I see people crying about Houst

I am just going through a nightmare with them- gave them a property on superhost status now property delisted

And zero protection from Airbnb!

Airbnb cannot stop hosts from choosing to use whatever management company they like to help run their STR business @Lwazi0

it is up to the business owner to do their due diligence. A quick search of their online reviews would put most STR owners off from working with them.

if they broke the terms of their contract with you you could take them to small claims court .

strangely on your profile it says you are Houst ??
