Is the Air B insurance enough or do you guys take out additional policies to cover yourselves? I'm not so worried about buildings/contents but more so liability if a guest gets injured?

@Sharron34 What Airbnb insurance? There isn't any such thing. Most hosts have to usually fight with them to get a penny. You need to research what str private insurance is available in your area.
And if you have an entire house listing you most definitely should be concerned with damage to the home and contents. Guests have trashed houses to the tune of thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars.

Thank you for this - i spoke with the Air B community and all they did was refer me to their insurance. I'm just concerned about a personal injury claim in the first instance? I can check with the insurance company about adding cover for renting for the contents etc. but liability is my main concern.
Even though it's a whole house listing, we live next door so damage isn't such a worry - we would be aware if there was anything bad going on!
@Sharron34 Got it. I actually don't have any insurance because I just rent a private room in my home. No guest has ever damaged anything.
And as far as liability goes, I live in Mexico, where trying to sue someone would take years due to the speed of the bureaucracy here 🙂
@Sharron34 If your insurance doesn't specifically allow short term rentals then you are taking a big risk. Whilst the likelihood is low the consequences are massive. We have a couple staying with us at present whose house was severely damaged in a fire caused by a faulty freezer in the neighbours house that was destroyed. Thankfully they were fully insured but if they had been renting, even if this didn't cause the fire, they would have had there claim rejected!
