How do the discounts in rule sets work?

I have this weird situation which I hope someone can explain to me.

My base price is 25. I've applied a rule set with a discount of 10% for 2 days, and 20% for last minute (within 3 days of arrival).

When I test the prices as a guest, I get 20 for the first day (tomorrow, 25-20% = 20), 20 for the day after (25-20% = 20) - so far so good.

But when I select both days, I get the price of 23 per night! I suppose the 2-days discount kicked in ( (2x25) - 10% / 2 = 22.5).

But why, shouldn't the guest receive the best discount? Or how does that even work?

What I would expect would be both discounts applied, 20% for last minute and 10% on top of that, so the price would be 18 per night.

@Dino202 I thought it worked differently and that if you combine a discount of 10% and 20% you get 30% off 25 which would be 17.5

No idea why you are ending up with a lower discount - its usually the opposite people complain about on here.
