What legal things have people done to start an air bnb in Baton Rouge, LA? I know we have to contact our HOA and insurance company. The Airbnb we will be renting out is a guest house attached to our house that we own. What else do we need to do? A special inspection?

Hey Alex, Baton Rouge passed Airbnb regulations that were supposed to go into effect 8/15/2023 or so that would require you to get an occupational license, as well as get approved in front of the planning commission, among other things. However, it is now October and I haven't heard anything else about it. Anyone with Airbnbs before that date would be grandfathered in, assuming they comply with the additional requirements of max occupancy 2 per room plus 2, parking available for all guests, and the approval from the planning commission.
Baton Rouge isn't the most on top of things, but I would keep an eye out for when they start enforcing it.
