HOSTS BE AWARE
Sharing a personal story, I am a superhost for over 3 years. One of those times I had a guest who made a reservation, who was walking with a cane and later "fell" on property. No ambulance was called and didn't seem injured, checked out with no issues or bad reviews. Later I was served 6 months later with a liability claim for 1M. Thinking since I'm with airbnb (reason im hosting with them is due to convenience and insurance they claim to offer). Filed a claim with them, called them many times, being told just wait. Hired own legal counsel and paid as had to file a defense within 14 days. So I filed a defense in Feburary and to this date, airbnb or their alleged insurance company/ adjuster did not contact me. I emailed and called countless times with no resolution or progress, stuck paying legal fees and who knows what happens if I lose. Be careful, Airbnb insurance and customer service is not what they promise it to be on the website.
