Long does the city take to process registrations in Los Angeles?

Has anyone registered their stay with the city of Los Angeles over the last 6 months? I'm wondering how long it will take these clowns to approve my stay. As always, they seem to be slow, incompetent bureaucrats. Nobody is answering the phones, nobody is calling back (I left a message with an operator 6 days ago), nobody responds to emails, etc. I tried to renew my permit from last year (after not renewing for 6 months) and it said they cannot process my registration, please call this  number, blah blah blah. I will be pissed if it takes them 30 days to process my permit. I will want to open before that and book reservations for the Summer ASAP. But, maybe I'll just file for unemployment under COVID if they railroad me by taking their sweet time.

Oh @Pete69 , they are probably all still on furlough, or Working From Home not back in Council offices, like many Council staff across the world, give them a break 😉

Maybe they are busy hanging out their washing, walking the dog, on Zoom calls or having a coffee and chat at their local..

Actually they are just lazy, self-serving bureaucrats.  My permit got approved in 1 day. My phone call and my email were both never returned.

Adding insult to injury, once I relisted my stay, within a day, the city notified Airbnb that my listing was not permitted (which of course it was). So they have time to do what serves themselves best.

The city of LA also just imposed a new $3 per booking fee. That's on top of the 14% tax and the $91 yearly permit fee.
