I'm writing this partly to vent and to warn others, and partly to ask for help. I've had a regular homesharing permit in LA since July and I'm coming close to the max number of days I can rent under that, which is 120. I applied for an extended homesharing permit back in October. This in theory lets you rent for as many days as you want. Problem is, there has been no response whatsoever from the homesharing office. I've called them about five or six times--nobody ever picks up, so I've left voicemails. Emailed about a dozen times, too. I also found the individual emails and phone numbers of the two individuals who work in this office and have contacted them directly by phone and email. Also no response. Not an email, not a phone call, not a peep. I'm ten days away from a very important income stream getting shut off and the city of LA has absolutely no sense of urgency about it. Needless to say this is not the way city services are supposed to work but our city government is an absolute dumpster fire, at least this homesharing office. Has anyone had success getting an extended homesharing permit recently? How did you do it? I've already emailed my city council member, no response to that either, so I'm getting ready to bombard them with emails and calls since I think that may be the only way to get someone's attention.
