Multiple 1099-K forms received

Does anyone else here have received multiple 1099-K and/or 1099-MISC for a fiscal year?

If so, is there any logic to how each one is structured?

For several years now, I have received multiple 1099 forms. I am a primary host with several properties (listings). In addition, I also co-host with several listings that belong to others and for which I receive a paid commission.

Would this be the reason I receive several 1099 forms? If so, would I receive a 1099 for my own listings and one per co-host? For example, If I am a primary host for three properties and a co-host for five other listings belonging to five different hosts AND I meet the income threshold for each listing, should I receive 6 different 1099 forms (one for my hosting income and five for each co-hosting income)?

Any enlightening comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Rodrigo100 😊

thank you for asking this here!

Have you found an answer to your question?

Since this is a very specific one, I recommend connecting with local hosts in your area through our 👉 Local Host Clubs to ask them about it.

Thank you for your suggestion, @Elisa

No, I have not received an answer from anyone.

I contacted the superhost support line, who in turn contacted me, via email (not sure why), with someone with supposedly more knowledge on forms 1099s.

However, for whatever reason, they do not want or cannot provide any information regarding the sources of income of my multiple 1099 forms.

To be clear, I don't believe this is a local issue. ALL Airbnb hosts in the US who meet a threshold, will receive at least one 1099 form to report to the IRS when doing taxes. So it's hard for me to believe that my situation applies locally.

It may be a specific case, sure, but that's why I asked here if anyone out there has also received more than one 1099 each year. If more than one replies in the affirmative, then my case is not unique, right?

Therefore, to answer your question, no, no one at Airbnb has been willing to assist me for reasons that I do not understand.

Thank you for asking.

Hi @Rodrigo100 ,

I have the opposite problem of only receiving one 1099 for my properties, and due to how each property is titled, I need separate 1099 forms. I am interested to know how you have yours listed that you were able to get individual forms per property.

Thanks, SAndra

Hi @Sandra216 ,

I wish I could tell you that each one of my 1099s represent one different property. That would be easy for me. Instead, there's no rhythm or rhyme to them. That's exactly what I'm trying to get some at Airbnb to help me understand them. But after repeated attempts, no one seems to either want to or willing to assist me.

If it helps you, your payout reports can sort your income by listing, therefore you can tell which listing has provided your income reported as one total in your 1099. That should be fairly simple.

Good luck,

Rodrigo
