New Vic tax

I have submitted my applications for the new Victorian tax exemption. What happens next? I can see that the tax is already applied to my future booking and as it my principal place would like it removed asap.

Hello @Denise1991 👋

Thank you so much for asking your question on the Community Center. I wondered if you had spoken to Airbnb Support about the exemption and ensuring that it's reflected on your account?

@Rebecca

Can you show us a screenshot or the link where it should show up as an Exemption?

Why have ABB taken a blanket approach to all users for when it's a Government Taxation Sensitive private information matter between ABB users and our own taxation offices?

The New Zealand Tax office have recently been reprimanded for intruding into people's Social Media accounts and private affairs.

Good evening @Denise1991

Did you have to write to the Victorian Taxation/ Revenue office to apply for an Exemption or Airbnb?

We face a similar situation here providing a room in home share.

The blanket approach email out to us all is incompetence.

no. You simply need to fill in the goggle form that Airbnb provide in their link and save the doc in the event of being audited. Airbnb removed the tax off future bookings within a few hours. A friend had to call them though when theirs wasn’t removed after 24 hours or submitting google form
