Looks like this is a common issue and one that doesn't have a good track record for being resolved. I have two payouts within the last 30 days that were sent to a bank account that doesn't exist anymore. I have opened a case with airbnb by phone, but they are quite unhelpful. They tell me to call the bank, and the bank says that the money never arrived since the account is closed. Can anyone recommend a way to reach the right person at AirBnB who can re-send payouts that have failed?
Issues regarding payouts need to be resolved by the "Financial Department", which you can not reach out to directly. So you need to contact Airbnb CS, which can be a challenge...but unfortunatelly your only choice. (maybe also Twitter, account AirbnbHelp)
as far as I know, payouts are always being sent to the defined bank account when the booking actually has been confirmed. This means if you have any other upcoming stays with the booking date being prior to the closing date of your bank account you might have some more issues.
As Emiel explained, there is no technichal mechanism inside Airbnb and your pay-out needs to be redirected manually.
Dear Andrew. I know it’s a while since you made this post, but I’m in the same situation as you were. So I’m interested in knowing if you ever got your payment, and if you did - how did you solve it. the customer service from Airbnb want me to send documentation for from my bank, that they have send the money back. But since it was send to an account not existing, the bank say they automatically go back to Airbnb.
