Sent following to AirBnb support: AirBnb Transaction History csv file problem. The first row of data in a csv file should be a header row. Since you export the transaction history file without a header row, the first row of data, the currency will not format or calculate in either Excel or Google Sheets. Test it. You will see what I mean. You need to find a way to export the csv with a header row. Trying to create a header row above the first data row does not resolve the problem. The only way I have found to deal with it is to insert a blank row under the first row of data, copy the first row to the second blank row and delete the first row. If people don’t notice that the first row of data in your csv file won’t calculate in a formula, you will have a lot of customers with inaccurate data. Please add a header row to your csv export. Thank you.
Yes. If you go to: Menu > Transaction History > Gross Earnings - that option will give you headers in the .csv file. I don't understand why it doesn't give a header if you choose download a .csv file under the "Completed Payouts" option. The difference between the two is, you can choose to download per listing under "Completed Payouts" and "Gross Earnings" includes all listings.
I think they should correct the problem under "Completed Payouts."
@Karen3152 I went into my data to test your export problem, and all of my various csv files DO have a header row. They are not formatted necessarily as currency, but it is easy enough in Excel to highlight the column and specify if the column is text or currency.
Interesting because I definitely do not get a header row and neither Excel or Google Sheets will format the cell in the first row as a currency cell with a dollar sign. All the rows in the column below the the first row will properly format and calculate, just not the first row.
