Property Cleaning

Hello Community!

I am not a host but rather, a house cleaner. Today I attempted to message hosts offering my services but quickly realized, after sending two messages, that a reservation timeframe is also sent with the message and cannot remove it. I worry that this comes off poorly or misleading and do not want that. Just simply trying to generate more business and thought hosts might be looking for help. As a host & in your experience, what is your preferred or most welcoming method someone wanting to offer to clean for you can contact you?

I would appreciate the feedback!

Please do not spam hosts by pretending to make a booking when what you want is to sell your services @Shara169

If you want to market your business to hosts  research and develop a marketing plan and invest in your own marketing channels such as a website or social media channels .

Hello, thank you so much for your response & feedback. As I mentioned though, I did not intentionally spam them - I had no idea that the message I sent to them would look as if I was interested in booking. And, because I noticed that it sent with a booking request date causing my intent to look intentionally unkind, I came here to ask advice and feedback. Thank you again for your response.

@Shara169Appreciate your grind!  You are correct  it is not a best practice as we hosts are graded on our response times as well as a successful booking after inquiry.

As a former cleaning business owner I will tell you it won't be hard but it might be a little bit more work...  Here's some pointers:

If cleaning short term rentals is your sole business model then you should be targeting short term rental owners.  If you are trying to mix it in with servicing reg bi-weekly clients it is a recipee for disaster.

There are many Aibrnb for cleaners groups on Facebook.  Join those and follow the group

Turno formerly Turnover Airbnb  is a platform for cleaners that just specialize in Airbnb cleaning, put yourself on there.

Just like you found the hosts in your area via Airbnb, drill down a little harder and go to your county/ city/town  assessors's page and get the owner name  and address and send them   a letter in the mail offering your services. Direct mail is still very powerful if the message  resonates with them. Highlight their fears and offer a solution.  If we get a bad grade on cleaning in our Airbnb rentals it's the kiss of death.  Let them know how you will prevent that from happening.

Local Neighborhood pages such as Nextdoor and Facebook local pages are a treasure trove.  Join them and follow along...most let you advertise your business on certain days of the week

Make a FB page if you don't already have one.

Create a Google My Business page if you don't have one, very powerful especialy when you get reviews.

Best of luck and I am happy to help if you need it. Former  ownerof  a residential cleaning service for 17 years and hosting for 15 years.

Karen - Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for your in-depth response!!! I've saved the information you provided and will absolutely use it. The county assessors page is a fantastic idea - I was wondering how to go about sending mailers. Thank you also for educating me on how my message to the hosts could negatively affect their business, I've never been a host so I had no idea and I certainly want to help - not hurt! Also, the advice of how doing residential & airbnb cleanings together may be a disaster. I truly appreciate your open & raw input. I am not sure how but I would gladly take any additional advice you are willing to give me in residential cleaning service!
