Request for Additional Payment by Guest in Advance who hasn't fully paid their reservation

If guests arrive by car, they have to park in a Resident's Parking Zone for which I have to order Visitor's Parking permits payable in advance and non-refundable from the local authority.

So I then have to request an additional payment from the guest through Airbnb for extra services. ( About 50% of guests travel by car )

But if the reservation is not fully paid , the system does not allow one to make an additional payment request.

This is so inconvenient as I have to find out the guest's fully paid date from them, note it and then try again.

It's not as though I want to be paid immediately; I just want an acknowledgement that the additional payment is due via Airbnb.

When I need to request money on a split payment booking, I have learned that the full payment is due 2 weeks in advance of check in.  I make a note and request the funds then.  Meanwhile, I have sent a message to confirm the payment will be collected prior to check in or the booking will be cancelled.  As some guests may be traveling for a while prior to checking in, you may need to call them to remind if they are not getting alerts from Air BNB.
